From Jason Thompson's website:

On January 27th, 2010 Tiffany Carroll, a young, vivacious and seemingly healthy 25 year-old lost a battle with Hypertrophic Cardio Myopathy -- a disease neither she nor anyone else realized she was fighting. Hypertrophic Cardio Myopathy or HCM is a condition in which the heart muscle becomes thick. This thickening makes it difficult for blood to leave the heart forcing the heart to work harder to pump blood. For this reason, HCM is known as the leading cause of sudden cardiac death in athletes and young adults.

This month the Jason Thompson Foundation honors Tiffany Carroll's memory with Heart to Heart. A program designed to raise awareness of Hypertrophic Cardio Myopathy (HCM) and heart disease in athletes and young adults. Heart to Heart aims to provide funding to charities and organizations that specialize in cardiovascular disease. Our mission is to arm our youth with the knowledge and resources needed to tackle these conditions without losing sight of what’s important, health. Everyone deserves to have a healthy heart and we believe that sharing ours can make the difference.

Friday, January 27th 2012 marks the two-year anniversary of Tiffany’s passing. We will honor this day with a red balloon release. We ask that anyone who has lost someone to heart disease honor his or her loved ones memory by releasing a red balloon into the sky. For every red balloon released on January 27th as part of the Heart to Heart annual Red Balloon Release, the Jason Thompson Foundation will donate $5 to the American Heart Association. www.heart.org In addition, for every new like we receive on Facebook from now until January 27th we will donate $1 to the cause.

If you would like to participate simply send in a photo or video of your balloon release to crystal@jasonthompsonfoundation.com by February 1st. You may also make a direct donation to the Jason Thompson Foundation a 501 (c) (3) organization. 100% of your donation is tax deductible. For more information visit us on the web at www.jasonthompsonfoundation.com

Please Note:
Do NOT release mylar balloons only latex as latex balloons are biodegradable and will not harm our environment. Also, be sure to cut the string and anchor of the balloons prior to release. Unfortunately strings and ribbon are not biodegradable and can get stuck in power lines and cause harm to wild life and we really don't want that to happen. Remember to check your state environmental laws incase they prohibit against balloon releases in your location. This is for those who intend on releasing a significant number of balloons. 1 or 2 balloons shouldn't be a problem but again please know your laws. As always, we appreciate your willingness and participation.

Went to Lake Tahoe and it always brings back memories when I look at the tree that my sister and I carved our names in at our house in 1997.

HERE WE CONTINUE... (9/366)

Last year the Sacramento Kings owners said they would move the team to Anaheim. A grassroots movement called Here We Stay was formed as a play off on the Kings slogan for the year, Here We Rise. What would happen next is truly magical. With efforts from the community, Mayor Kevin Johnson and numerous people in Sacramento; the Kings stayed in Sacramento and an arena plan is in the works. The task is not finished, but there is hope.

Tonight I went to the sold out premier of Small Market, Big Heart. It was an amazing documentary!! I love my city and the Sacramento Kings!
